Vicki Abbas began her career in nursing, working in acute care at a 300-bed Level 1 trauma center in Denver, Colorado. After nine years, she was promoted to an Associate Hospital Administrator, overseeing all clinical services and acting as a liaison with all medical service chiefs. She then took a position as Director of Nursing in a long-term acute care setting.

 

In 1999, she transitioned to managing clinical research operations, specializing in drug and device development. Much of her clinical research experience has been in senior management positions in small biotech startups. These roles include Senior Director of Clinical Operations at RxKinetix, Executive Director of Clinical Operations at N30 Pharmaceuticals and Sinopsis Surgical, and most recently, VP of Clinical Operations at Neuraptive Therapeutics. She founded the consultancy Clinical Connection in 1995 and continues to take roles as a critical liaison between sponsors and sites during clinical trials for novel therapeutics. She joined Numiera Therapeutics in 2025 to support clinical trials in neuro oncology for their orphan-designed lead candidate drug etomoxir.
